Equipment Tagging Data Segmentation

Synergy offers two methods to segment data into logical groupings to make equipment tagging faster and more efficient. The following information defines how to use filtering or searching to quickly see which equipment needs tagging. Use the building dropdown menu under the status bar to select the building to view data. You should be on the Equipment Tagging screen of Synergy for these directions.

Searching by Asset Path

1. Click the “Search Asset Path” search bar in the Type or Parent and Metadata Tagging tab and type the desired asset path. The [Apply Filter] button becomes active.

2. Click the [Apply Filter] button. The table is filtered based on your selection.

Searching by Display Name

1. Click the “Search Display Name” search bar and type or copy and paste the desired display name. The [Apply Filter] button becomes active.

2. Click the [Apply Filter] button. The table is filtered based on your selection.

Using Search Bar Wildcards

Wildcards can be used in searches to further define table results. The asterisk symbol (*) is the wildcard identifier and replaces parts of an asset path or display name in searches.

  • Using a wildcard at the beginning will return all asset paths that end with the search term.
  • Using a wildcard at the end will return all asset paths that begin with the search term.
  • Using a wildcard at both the start and end will return all asset paths that contain the search term.
  • Using a wildcard between search terms will return all asset paths that contain the search term between wildcards (Example: *flr_1*chlrPlant*chlr*).

Filtering by Equipment Type

1. Click the “Equipment Type” filter dropdown and click an equipment type to filter by. The [Apply Filter] button becomes active.

2. Click the [Apply Filter] button. The table is filtered based on your selection.

Filtering by Parent Equipment

1. Select the "Parent & Metadata Tagging" tab.

2. Click the “Parent” filter dropdown and click a parent equipment type to filter by. The [Apply Filter] button becomes active.

Note: To further refine search results, click the "Equipment Type" filter dropdown and click an associated piece of equipment.

3. Click the [Apply Filter] button. The table is filtered based on your selection.

Returning to the Default Table View

To return to the default table view after you have segmented the data by filtering or searching, click the “Clear Filter” link in the filter bar.
